Past-Present-Future

Hey everyone! So wow, two posts in a row are a day late, shame shame Tianna! However, the only reason is because I wanted to include some pictures from the concert that I went to. So, without further delay, let's get started.

Past

  • Hooray for completing driver's ed!!! I finally finished, although my class was only 1 month long and class was a few times a week for me (opposed to my brother whose went for 3 months!). As you can see, class before our final was quite productive, if I do say so myself...
... monogram, bow, and macaroon doodles. duh.

  • As many of you know, Sautrday, June 21 was National Wear Your Lilly Day! I thought that to get in the spirit, I would disassemble an old shift dress :) LOL but in all seriousness that's how I spent my day! I kind of winged instructions and was extremely happy with my DIY Lilly camera strap! I also made a precious Lilly dog collar for my brown Lab (needless to say she adored it).

  • If you've been reading some past posts, you know that I attended the OneRepublic/ The Script/ American Authors concert! To sum it up in one word: SOSOFREAKINGAMAZING! I love basically every OneRep song, especially "Something I Need." They were beyond fantastic live, and am planning on seeing them again!
Free tickets (courtesy of my padre's sweet connections)
in an amazing VIP suite (no pun intended)!

Present
  • Recently, my mom and I made the hajj to several grocery stores in search of enlightenment some {drumroll...} almond meal! This seemingly odd ingredient is key for making macaroons, which are actually impossible to make. SERIOUSLY. Much to the surprise of both of us, once the treats were finished baking (despite looking rather revolting), our macaroon-esque mess was pretty tasty!!

  • One of my best friends had a small dinner at a local country club for her birthday, and it was a great way to also celebrate the end of our sophomore year! This maxi dress's fun pattern encompasses one of my favorite trends for the summer

  • Another friend had a beach day for her birthday! I wasn't able to sleep over at her beach house because of the OneRepublic concert, but I'm so glad I made it to the beach part!
Happy Sweet 16 Nat!!

Future
  • In case I haven't mentioned it a bajillion times, Friday is the day! {and no, not the 4th, but the day I leave for Mexico!!} My friends and I are exuberant about our Sweet 16 trip, and can hardly wait out the days until we leave
Incomplete packing list {typical}

  • Finally, I have yet to finish putting away/sorting through all of my binders, notebooks, et cetera from this past school year. "I'll get around to it" has been my motto lately...
Sad thing is, is that this is all from one class... but hey
shoutout to my Lilly You Gotta Regatta binder cover!

That's all for today! I know there are a lot of photos, but I feel like it completes the moment (does that even make sense)... Any way, this time next week I'll be away, so I'm planning on having a blog post scheduled to upload for Sunday. However, if there is a sad, desolate space where said post should be on Sunday, take that as a sign saying: "Tianna has unsuccessfully attempted to schedule a post. Please check back later!" Have a great week and 4th of July!

Until next time (when I'll be tanner from them Mexico rays),
                                 Ti :)

Summer Outfits Part II

Hey everyone! I've been spending so much time on my Pinterest lately (follow me by clicking here!), and have been loving some summery outfits! If you've been reading my last few posts, you'd know that in the beginning of July, my friend group is going on a mother-daughter Sweet 16 trip to Cancun, and these are some outfits I'm planning to wear!

1. Funky Flare

Although when I wear this outfit I feel like I'm bringing back the 70s, patterned pants like these are making a major comeback! I got these ones at a local boutique, but my mom picked up an ah-dorable pair just like 'em made by Ralph Lauren. These are awesome because you can wear them as a coverup, or dress them up with some wedges like I did!

top: Forever 21
pants: local boutique
wedges: Bloomingdale's
2. Statement Tank
I found this whimsical satin tank top at Francesca's, and I don't know about you (but I'm feelin' 22), but it totally reminds me of something made by Lilly Pulitzer! I paired it with white jeans and a cream sweater. The sweater is, again (oops), from a boutique, but I've seen super similar items from Pacsun and Brandy Melville. I think it's perfect for a summer night when you want to just toss something over a cute outfit.

top: Francesca's
pants: J. Crew
shoes: Jack Rogers in platinum
sweater: boutique

3. Beach Bum
When I head down to the beach, I love to wear light-weight button downs like this one. They are totally similar to these Colombia PFG Fishing shirts that I've seen all over Pinterest, some even monogrammed! These shirts can get pretty pricey, but they are so worth it in my opinion. Also, I just received my Lauren James Shorties in the mail!! The shipping was super fast and they fit perfectly! If anyone was wondering about sizing, they run almost exactly like Nike running shorts (I'm 5'6 and pretty slim, and went with a medium to have some room). I'm planning on wearing these guys on the 4th!

My black bathing suit top is from Victoria's Secret. I went there this past weekend with some friends, and the sales there blew me away. This top was originally $30, marked down to $17, and an additional half of for a grand total of $8! It doesn't get much better than that! The tiny bow in front and cute ruffles make it all the better!

I love to tie it up like this!
top: C&C California (from Lord and Taylor)
shorts: Lauren James
shoes: Rainbows
headband: Lululemon

Also, these are some of my new favorite bathing suits! From top to bottom, they are from Victoria's Secret, Macy's (my favorite-seersucker aaaannnd ruffles!!), and Aerie.

Hopefully this post makes up for its lateness!
Until next time,
                         Ti

P.S. I had to share this one...we almost had a cute picture, but apparently something else was obviously more important ;)

Recap: Finals Are Over!

Yes, yes, my post is going up a wee bit later than usual,  BUT with good reason! This past week for me has been completely and utterly the most stressful time of my life. On the bright side, I have proven myself as a warrior (a flashcard warrior, that is) and have survive finals/ regents week!!!!!!

*Cue the nonexistent confetti cannon* I had not only been worried about the exams themselves, but had been overwhelmed as to how I'd done. However, as my guidance counselor blatantly pointed out, my overall effort extended has paid off with all high 90s, and I couldn't be prouder of myself :)This seems a bit cocky and braggy, but trust me when I say I have paid my dues with defined dark eye circles, knots in my back, hours on end of review classes, and flashcards EVERYWHERE.

Essentially, my week was spent stress-eating this amazing edible cookie dough, consuming mass quantities of my favorite lemonade in the midst of two 6 hour review classes (major GAG), and having study group sessions (and the amazing dinner above!) with some friends.

To keep this post from being waaay too long, another separate post about some more of my fave summer outfits will be making its way over to the blog shortly!

Until next time (...more like a few minutes!),

Lust List: Summer Vacation Edition

Hey everyone! This week I was lacking big time in the blog post category, and simply couldn't come up with an idea, nor did the rainy weather let up long enough this week for me to get any good pictures! So, I decided to compile a couple of items I've had my eye on (aka have been majorly swooning over) for the summer, especially for my Cancun trip!

1. Sunnies
I currently use my Michael Kors blue-tinted aviators, which I've had for 2 years and are so scratched up you'd think they belong to a toddler! I'm looking to upgrade to possibly some Ray Bans aviators, or even a fun cat eye like these above! I also love using my Lilly Pulitzer croakies in Let's Chacha!

2. Take a Hike

But actually though... I recently picked up this Yur Bud iPhone running sleeve, and already love it! It's perf for a jog on the beach or a tempo workout at the track. This company also happens to make the only ear buds in the existence of humanity that stay put when I go for a run!

3. Swim Swam Swum

Although I'm wary of ordering bathing suits online, I am in love with so many from southernswim.com! There are even a few unique ones that aren't bandeaus, aka won't travel south every time you go in the water (story.of.my.life.).

4. Take Cover!

After a day in the sun, nothing feels better to me than throwing on a soft, dry cotton t-shirt. Plus, if it's long enough, you can totally pull it off as a dress! This one is from shopacutabove.com, which also has a few other "southern preppy" shirts similar to Southern Tide, SoPro, etc. I love the bow ties!

5. Detangle

Don't laugh. Between the salty air and waves, my midriff-length thick hair is most likely a knot itself. My mom has sworn by this L'oreal detangler, and I've been using it since I was little! Not only does it smell amazing (reminds me of my childhood!), but it works like a charm on wet, dry, curly, you-name-it hair! It was also the "it" item at sleepaway camp, and I was constantly chasing after my cabin mates who "borrowed" it!!

That's all for today! Hopefully after this week is over, along with the majority of my exams, I'll get some original photos up! So far I've finished Latin (woo-hoo!), and have global, trig, and english this upcoming week followed by Spanish and chem next week. Plus an 8 hour review tomorrow (Sunday) and next Sunday. Oy freaking vey. KEEP ME IN YOUR THOUGHTS!!

Until next time (assuming I survive exams ;),

Past-Present-Future

Hi everyone! In the midst of my draining study sessions this past week, I was trying to find some inspiration for a new blog post, and came up with this idea! Basically, it's more of a weekly log of stuff I did ("past"), what I'm planning for today ("present"), and what I'm looking forward to ("future")! I hope this isn't too boring, but here it goes!

Past
This past Monday was my school's senior athlete dinner awards, but I was able to attend since I was a winning underclassman! I was so excited to have one last event with everyone on my team, and next year is going to feel completely different without all of them.
Track 4 life
I decided to wear this dress, which I styled in a previous post. Also, I went with simple for my shoes with my Jack Rogers in Platinum.

This event was probably the most excitement I had this week, unless you get revved up about 2 hour global and and chem review classes ON TOP of driver's ed. Nonetheless, I am pretty pumped to be able to finish driver's ed before my summer trip with all of my friends (more on that later!)

OH. I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT THE EXCRUCIATING PAIN THAT IS The Faults in Our Stars.
I'll keep this short and sweet, but I was blown away by the movie! Rarely do you see directors that follow the book closely, but it was as if the novel itself was used as the script!!! That being said, I feel anyone who doesn't read it will be at a disadvantage, as there are a couple references in the movie that simply make more sense having read the book. My friends know that I rarely cry in any novel or movie, and while I didn't cry reading the book, a few tears may have been shed during Gus's funeral. Maybe.

Present
Today {Sunday} for some reason, I woke up at 5 am and just could not go back to sleep. So what do I do? Make a smoothie, duh. My mom was also up, so we decided we may as well be productive and took a trip to the grocer and got some fresh fruit. I've also been experimenting in the smoothie field, and the almond vanilla milk below is amazing! Coming from someone who despises both almond and milk, neither flavors except the vanilla are detectable! Score!
After taking my week off from track (totally needed since I've been in practice since November!), I grabbed my sneakers and went for a run this morning. However, it got super hot really fast, so after an easy 3 miles I headed home to walk my Lab.
Yellow norts, black Lululemon tank, and some crazy papers in the background!

Future
First of all, I cannot wait for school to be over. My Latin exam is next week, followed by three more exams the next week, and finally my last two exams the week of the 22nd. Oy vey. But Sunday, June 29, I'm going to see One Republic with one of my best friends!!! The theater is literally on the beachfront, and I always have a great experience there!
One Republic, here we come!
As I mentioned in the beginning of this post, me and 10 of my closest friends are going on a mother-daughter trip to Cancun a week after school ends! All of our moms planned it for us as a special Sweet 16 trip since none of us had a huge party, and I couldn't be more grateful or excited! I know we'll all make amazing memories and just enjoy being together.

That's all for today! Until next time,

Loving Lately:: Ready for Summer

Hi everyone, sorry to be posting this a smidgen later in the day than normal! But this morning, my family took our first beach trip of the season! We live around 20 minutes away from the beach, and let me tell you, the getaway was much needed with all the stress of upcoming finals. Today I'm going to be talking about some things I've been Loving Lately!

1. Beach needs

As I said before, I totally needed our quick beach trip this morning. My family also has a long-established tradition of going to our favorite bagel place for an early breakfast, then heading down to the shores! My Tervis monogrammed water bottle is a total necessity for anyone at the beach! After 3 hours of sitting in my Vineyard Vines canvas tote (another total fave!), my water still had ice in it. This morning also happened to be a bit breezy, so my newly received Fraternity Collection sweatshirt was a perfect fit (no pun intended ;))! However, it thankfully turned out to be a perfect beach day.

2. Hydration Station

Anybody who knows me at all is aware of my (seemingly odd) lemonade obsession! For some reason, different lemonades just make me blissful. My dad picked up this sparkling pink lemonade last weekend from King's for Memorial Day, and it basically had me swooning. I also love to use my adorable mason jar mug (with reusable/freezable ice cubes!) that my mom found for me at Home Goods.

3. Beautify Me

I'd been needing a new pressed powder for ages (okay, a couple months, but it's felt like ages!). I finally found some time to make it to Ulta and picked up my all-time favorite Benefit Hello Flawless powder! If you are in need of one, your search is over! This powder can be as covering or as thin as you want it to be, and it is parfait for someone like me who just likes to wear a bit of tinted moisturizer and blush. My old powder (on the right) had a crack in the base of it, leaking powder every time I went to open it (so not cute on my white jeans :/). Also, I ended up being two shades darker from my trip to Florida!
My second beauty favorite is this lavender body wash, also from Ulta. The lavender scent has been proven to reduce stress, which (in case I haven't mentioned enough) is very prevalent as finals approach.

That's all for today, I hope everyone has a nice first week of June!
                Until next time,
                                          Ti

Sunday Funday: Monogram DIYs!

Hi guys! Today, I thought I'd share some simple and fun DIY projects with you. I've had a crazy and jam-packed couple of days last w...
