Past-Present-Future: Step into my Life!

Hey guys! I don't know about anyone else, but I'm just so glad that I survived this week! It's honestly been jam-packed with events from cross-country meets to the PSAT to exams in basically every class!

Past

In the midst of my busy school week, I had the urge to toss up some Christmas lights on my wall!

I also free-handed the monogram canvas on my wall, and painted it; I am in loooove with how it turned out!

I was so excited to visit my brother at his college!! He plays soccer, so my family went to his school for the day and spent some time with him after :) The school is also walking distance from a bridge with a pedestrian path, and I got some cool pictures of the sunset!

One night, one of my friends sent a mysterious text asking if I was home... 20 minutes later, I was greeted by her and an adorable package of macaroons! She was in the city and said she saw them and thought of me... if that doesn't describe me, I don't know what does!

I also managed to survive my physics exam... cue the confetti!!

Present

To celebrate my survival of this crazy week, my mom and I went shopping! I may or may not have spent all the money I made tutoring and babysitting...but it was totally worth it! (**Expect a fun styling post soon!!)

Today was the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk" that I did with a ton of friends! One of my friend's mom's is a survivor, and it was a great experience being a part of the walk and seeing all the positive energy!
Yes, tutus were my idea ;)
Also, my friend group and I decided that for Halloween, we're being mermaids!! Here's a Pinterest pic we were inspired by, except with a little more coverage since it's been close to 40 degrees here!!

Future

This upcoming week, my school has spirit week! It's always super fun because everyone usually goes all-out and dresses up!

On the actual day of Halloween, we're all going to a friend's house in Southold (eastern Long Island). We're all beyond excited; since it's a Friday, we'll be sleeping over as well!

That's all I have for today! Talk to you guys next week!

Until next time,
Ti

Feeling Fall Linkup!

Hi guys! I'm overly excited to share today's post with you, because it's actually a linkup run by Carrie, Laura and Jamie. The prompt. if you will, was to style our favorite scarf and answer some questions, which I've done at the end of this post!

I'll quickly share a little sob story with you; Picture this:

You planned out your whole post, outfit and location and all. Each day for the past week, you run to the window and take a peak outside, only to see that the ominous, water-logged clouds have remained in their position for the whole entire week! What's a blogger to do? Venture out into the unknown, and get pictures, obviously (#doitfortheblog). Hence the umbrella in most of the pictures!

Cozy Cable Knit

Here it is! My all-time favorite fall scarf is this unbelievably soft cream knit scarf! The weather here has taken a turn for the winter, and I'm just now accepting it ;)

Smiling through the freezing rain :)))
I also love to pair this scarf with my super warm knitted headband/ear warmer!

...but let's be real, this was my 'tude towards the totally uncooperative chilly weather!
Now onto the questions!

1. What's your favorite fall trend?

Vests!! I'm a sucker for a quilted vest, or any type for that matter! I think they add a nice touch to any fall outfit :) Of course, I have to mention these J. Crew vests which are on sale!

2.What's your favorite Starbucks drink?

Unpopular opinion: tea and coffee really aren't my thing; you'd most likely catch me drinking a peppermint hot chocolate! These are by far my weakness as the colder weather approaches!
Although it's a bit early to be thinking of Christmas, here's one of my favorite mint hot chocolate DIY recipes!

3. If you could only wear one pair of boots this whole season, which pair would they be?

I actually did a post last week mentioning my favorite fall shoes, and my Steve Madden boots definitely take the cake on this one

4. What's your favorite fall activity?

Bonfires x20! I have a mini bonfire pit in my backyard, so I always invite friends over to roast marshmallows and just hangout. Also, since it gets chilly at night, I also invite friends over to go in the outdoor hot tub; this is also really fun to do when it snows, believe it or not!

That's it for today! I'd like to thank the girls who organized the linkup and invited me to participate once again!

Until next time,
Ti :)

Autumn Kicks: 3 Fall Outfits

Hi guys! I don't know about you, but this past week has been absolutely killing me! I have a busy week ahead of me as well, but next week's post is one I'm super excited for so keep an eye out ;)

Today I'll be showing you three of my favorite fall shoes, and how I like to style them!
I live in New York, and it's been pretty chilly lately, especially in the mornings. So, as much as it pains me to say it, it's time to pack away the Jack Rogers and Rainbow flip flops for the season *cue sad music* But at the same time, I can't wait to wear my favorite boots!

Classic Boots
I searched high and low to find these boots in my size, and am so glad that I did! These are from Steve Madden, and are probably my favorite pair of boots (yes, even more than my Tory Burch!)
My family goes ham when it comes to decorating :P
This Free People shirt matched the boots perfectly!
The key with boots that hit at your knee, in my opinion, is to wear either some skinny jeans or a pair of leggings (yes, I do dare wear leggings as pants! They're great quality, I swear!).

If you opt for a looser fitting pant, it can create the illusion that your upper legs are wider than they really are, so I think a tighter pant really accentuates everything you want to and nothing you don't :)

Ankle Booties
I got these adorable little ankle boots last year, but actually had ZERO clue on how to style them! While this outfit is a bit out of my comfort zone, I really love it. I paired these Matisse boots with some boyfriend jeans from Gap, and a super soft flowy white Tee.
I usually shy away from boyfriend jeans for two reasons: 1) my extremely long and lanky legs usually make the jeans hit at a weird spot on my leg, and 2) I honestly can't fill them out, and they tend to look baggy on me! Nevertheless, I think they totally work :)

I think that a pant with looser bottoms or ones that roll up, like boyfriend jeans, are great for short boots because otherwise for me, it looks like my ankles are sorta awkwardly small... Hopefully I'm making sense, but yeah, I opt for a flowier bottom pant :)

Flats
The new Tory Burch Revas are God-sent! Ok, that might be an exaggeration, but I am in LOVE!
I'm a lover of any ballet flat to start with, and these gold Revas are no different

For me, cuffed jeans and ballet flats go together like PB & jelly (which I ironically dislike...but you get the point!). I chose a simple white oxford and my new favorite Anthropology scarf, along with a dark wash pair of Ditto jeans.

I love this outfit because it has a simple color palette, but still looks sophisticated!

(P.S. Can we just take moment to appreciate out Halloween/ Autumn decorations... I'm obsessed.)

That's all for today! I'm so glad to get this post up finally, especially since these pictures were taken last week. But... school.... need I say more?? See you guys next week!

Until next time,
Ti
